About the Canadian Tourism Commission
A federal Crown corporation, the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) was created in 1995 to promote Canadian tourism, in order to capitalize on one of the fastest-growing international industries. Today, the Commission is known by its public name “Destination Canada.”
The focus of the CTC is to promote growth and profitability of the Canadian tourism industry by:
- marketing Canada as desirable travel destination; and,
- providing timely and accurate information to the Canadian tourism industry to assist in its decision making.
