Background:

The CCYT initiative was created by the Canadian federal government for the 2018 calendar year, to strengthen ties between Canadian and Chinese citizens. Destination Canada, the federal Crown corporation mandated to attract tourism to Canada, managed CCYT operations and worked closely with industry in applying CCYT identity.
