The 1976 Summer Olympics logo is made up of three separate design elements.
- The Olympic Rings appears at the bottom.
- The elongated oval shape in the middle represents an Olympic stadium’s track.
- The three three elongated ovals at the top represent both an Olympic podium as well as the letter “M,” for Montreal.
