Tomorrow’s Naval Officer
Students in high school today are invited to find out now about the officer career plans of the Royal Canadian Navy. For the high school graduate who can qualify there are two avenues to a naval officer’s commission:
The Regular Officer Training Plan, common to the three Services, provides a subsidized education at the Canadian Services Colleges or a university leading to a bachelor’s degree, an officer’s commission and a professional career.
The Venture Plan provides an opportunity for students with junior matriculation standing to become naval aviators on a seven-year appointment.
The next ROTP and Venture courses commence in September, 1961. Applications are being accepted now from senior and junior matriculation students.
For full information on commissions in the Royal Canadian Navy, visit or write to your nearest RCN Recruiting Officer, or write to Officer Careers, Naval Headquarters, Ottawa 4, Ontario.
